Ivor, the landlord of the Bluebell had an idea a few years ago, to hold an annual walk as a way to keep fit and raise money for charity. This year the money raised will go to the Bassetlaw Hospice in Retford (anyone still wanting to donate can still do so ). I think we will all agree this is a worthy cause.
So, Ivor and Richard Mason put their heads together and devised a different route with locals from the village There were 14 people in total aged between 12 and 70ish ! Wonderful ! Gordon organised the fund raising with the hospice and off they went on 27 June. The weather was set fair but knowing the Lake District they were prepared for most conditions ( apart from snow). It was a challenge but everyone rose to it and nearly all managed to reach the summit. The pictures only tell part of the story, I am sure many more stories will be embellished in the Bluebell in the near future but well done to you all. Looking forward to next year already!!
