Bassetlaw District Council proposed Public Spaces Protection Order for the control of dogs has now completed its progress through the Council democratic process and will come into force across the District on 1st September 2015.
The order enacts the following provisions,
1. It will be an offence for a person in charge of a dog to fail to remove faeces forthwith from any land, to which the public have access by payment or not, with the express or implied permission of the landowner.
2. It will be an offence for a person in charge of a dog to fail to keep the dog on a lead in burial grounds and cemeteries listed in the Order.
3. It will be an offence for a person in charge of a dog to take the dog into those fenced children’s play areas listed in the Order.
Failure to comply with the requirement of the Order can result in the service of a £100 fixed penalty notice or, on conviction, a maximum fine of £1000.
